The Superman "S" Shield Logo
Iconic, Powerful, interesting, bold, colorful, The Superman Logo is all of these things.
Easily recognised by his classic Superman Logo, Superman ©
is possibly the most famous cartoon character of the
20th century.
And, because it is one of comics most famous cartoon Logo Designs,
its worth taking a look at the evolution of Supermans Logo.

Originally created in 1938 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the famous
Superman "S" Logo design has undergone many
changes over the years. In fact, Superman had a new
logo design almost every issue for his first few years, The
cover illustrations of Action Comics # 1 shows a Red"S' over a
yellow police shield. Though changed often over the early years, with
early cartoon illustrations of Superman most showing
an 'S' over either an inverted triangle background, or the more familiar
stylised pentagon, in either Black, Yellow or Red.



This eventulally settled into the more familiar Logo illustration we are familiar with today, from TV, Cartoons, Movies & Comics.
